About Pierre-Alexandre Huguenin
Welcome to my portfolio!
My name is Pierre-Alexandre Huguenin.
I was born in 1992 in Geneva, Switzerland, and I’ve been living there ever since. It’s a lovely city because it was built on the shoreline of Lake Geneva at a stone’s throw from the Alps. Also, it’s a very international city, as many expats live there.
I currently work as an urban planner in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, and spend my spare time hiking, running, and photographing the world.
I created this portfolio in June 2018 to share my interest in photography. I took it up a few years ago thanks to my passion for hiking, and also my visits to photography exhibitions.
What really fascinated me was how artists could narrate stories with very simple stills. Whether it was portraiture or landscape photography, the emotion and power that emerged from those shots truly moved me. I started understanding photography when I realised how images could communicate a message through not only subjects but also composition, colours, lighting, angles, and so on. From that very moment, I thought that I, too, can convey messages by means of stills. I knew that it would be a long, winding road, with lots of hills and mountains to climb, but the fulfilment I would find throughout this journey would definitely be worth it.
With this portfolio, I strive to relate stories I lived not only in Switzerland but also all around the world.
I hope you’ll have pleasure looking at the pictures presented in my portfolio. You’ll find on it a selection of what I consider my best shots. Additionally, you’ll find on Flickr, 500px, and Pinterest other pictures I took that, I thought, are worth sharing.
I’d be happy to answer any of your questions.

For those who’d like to discover the natural wonders of my region, feel free to visit my other website Randos-MontBlanc.com. I’ve been documenting on it all my hikes in Haute-Savoie (France), Switzerland, and neighbouring Italy.
Thank you very much for your visit.
